Rain Drops

I love the rain.  I love the sound it makes as it whips through the leaves on trees and bushes, as it tumbles down the roof and rattles down the gutter drains.  And the smell!  Before the skies open, the air feels heavy, and smells damp, heavy with promise.

The the rain breaks free of the clouds and the wind whirls around the house, tapping on the windows and rushing past the door.  Thunder rolls down from the low-laying clouds, chasing the lightning's bright trail across the sky.

And once the rain is done, the world smells fresh, the plants seem to grow before my eyes, and it feels as if all the dingy and dreary things in the world have been washed away.  The world once again is full unexplored possibilities.

I am making the most of this rainy day and will shortly be curled up on the couch with a mug of chai and a new book, reading to the sound of the storm.

  1. I love it too.. and its exactly what I would be doing if I didn't have a crazy exam to study for. I'm stuck memorizing 100 drugs names and bacteria and all.. so you enjoy that book, chai and rain for me too.
