Post-It Note Tuesday

It's time once again for Post-It Note Tuesday!
This blogring was started by Supah Mommy, and I found it through my friend Arena, over at The Nerd's Wife!

As you can tell from my Not Me! Monday post, I have some anxiety (understatement) about the coming school year.  Luckily, I have an amazing husband to encourage me, pups to make me laugh, big picture goeals to keep me focused, and a week to steel myself before everything starts back up!

  1. You'll do great next year; you're one of the toughest people I know, and you know Bryan will be there for you.

Um, resist the urge to beat Annie's butt when she finally does come- her little beagle brain will associate the beating with coming to you, not with the delay, and it'll get worse. And I did "NOT" learn that the hard and crappy way with Duke.

  2. Thanks for the comments y'all!

Lol Fins I used to think that. But she knows exactly what she's doing. Take today--I called 3 or 4 times, and she finally saunters out of the flowerbed on the side of the house. THEN she walks over about a foot from me. I say "good girl. come on in" and she wags her tail and walks off. I use my firm command voice (not angry, just firm) and she does it again. The beagle is too smart for her own good--she knows what I'm asking her to do, and deliberately chooses not to do it.
She's done this behavior pattern before--how I fixed it last time was to follow her (or chase her), catch her and spank her. Then I let her go, walk off and tell her to come. Usually at that point, she comes straight to me. And then I give her pettings and lovings and cookies :-).
It's like her whining sessions at 3 am--she goes through these phases silly pup.
